|A : ||Although there are signs of change in Japan's business culture, such as the adoption of the American-style "Casual Friday," the business of Japan is still conducted by men in dark or navy suits, white shirts and plain neckties. When in Japan for business meetings, your are well advised to dress conservatively, without going as far as to mimic the style of the Japanese businessman. Avoid West-coast dress down style. Wear comfortable slip-on shoes if possible, for Japanese style tatami room meetings. Make sure the shoes are polished, too, because the Japanese eyes will focus on them during the introductory bow. Oh, and take that earring out before the meeting Roger -- don't want to distract your Japanese counterparts!
